I've always been in the camp that doesn't love okra because of the slimy texture, but these vacuum-fried chips are a completely different experience. Crunchy with a slightly thick bite, no goo in sight. Glad I gave it a chance.
The texture is a bit thicker than I expected from a chip, but it works, there's a satisfying crunch and none of the slimy quality that puts a lot of people off okra. Would definitely recommend giving these a try if you're on the fence.
I'm not from the South and always associated okra with that slippery texture from being boiled as a kid. These are completely different, crispy and a bit thick, almost like a sturdier veggie chip. Genuinely worth trying even if you think you don't like okra.
These have a unique texture compared to other veggie chips, a little thicker and heartier bite than something like a kale chip. No trace of the gooey texture okra is known for. I was skeptical at first but ended up really enjoying the crunch.
